International Tourism Intention Monitor 2014

FIRST EVER GLOBAL STUDY TO RANK THE TOURIST EXPERIENCE IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES ACROSS THE WORLD

Global Market Research launches the first ever study to rank all the major tourist destinations in the world in terms of experience they deliver to recent international visitors

84 countries across the world are rated as tourist destinations and here is a taster of some of the findings :-

: ‘Recommendations from others’ is the single most important influence when consumers consider where to visit – so making the opinions of recent international visitors a particularly potent measure of the touristic appeal of any given country

: Costa Rica, with a net promoter score of + 63, is the most highly regarded country as a tourist destination among its recent international visitors

: in Europe the top rated countries in the experience of recent visitors are Austria  and Israel

: in Asia it’s Japan and New Zealand that top the poll

: across the Middle East and Africa it is the UAE that visitors are most likely to recommend strongly

: however, not all places manage to match up so well to the expectations of tourists, with established destinations in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and South East Asia being less well regarded than might be anticipated
